Those who donate money as a gift may be able to receive a tax deduction.

Individuals can claim tax deductions for donations given to organisations that have the status of deductible gift recipients (DGR). The gift must be money or property, and must truly be a gift i.e. a voluntary transfer where the giver receives no material benefit or advantage.
